What an awesome city! We did a super quick 5 hour tour, but saw a lot as we just walked aimlessly around the bay! It was a bummer not to see San Francisco friends, but with an uncertain schedule, it was hard to give better notice. I definitely want to revisit to see the real gems of San Francisco!
Clyde saw this in the Dayton airport en route back to San Francisco. We didn’t know he had a… thing! (we’re not sure what it’s used for at the airport, but it says Clyde, and that’s cool.)
the Golden Gate!
A different kind of national park for us. Our annual pass got us onto the boats for free—what a happy surprise!
Clyde was really glad we stumbled upon this park.
an old ferry!
Alcatraz (I couldn’t believe how close it was to the main land. No wonder people escaped. Clyde argued that the current is super strong. And the water’s cold. current schmurrent.)

people must’ve been shorter when this boat was built
So the lady taking orders at Starbucks really liked giving everyone nicknames, or saying “What’s your name? Mark? Like Mark Twain.” When Clyde ordered his hot chocolate before me, the lady said “Clyde? I can’t think of anything for Clyde.” So when I ordered, I said my name was Bonnie and the lady freaked out. Then I told her that’s not my real name, I was just trying to help her out. She enjoyed that.
Couldn’t resist driving by the Painted Ladies! (doesn’t that look like Rebecca and Uncle Jessie making out in the lawn?)
