2013 trip, West Coast

Vancouver, BC, Canada

We survived 21 hours in Vancouver.

After visiting Central America and Europe several times, I figured Canada would be a breeze to get into. On the contrary, the border agents were extremely abrasive and unfriendly as they took our keys, searched our car, our phones, and questioned Clyde and I separately (and extensively) about firearms and illegal drugs. We’ve never felt so guilty for doing absolutely nothing wrong. Needless to say, our awful entry into the country set a bad tone for our entire visit. The constant cloud cover, rain, and awful campground (full of people doing drugs and yelling in the middle of the night) didn’t help the mood either.

Overall though, Vancouver is a beautiful city with lots of nice people! I want to go back, but by plane next time. :)

*please note: all images in this gallery have not been enhanced so as to convey the true mood we felt in Vancouver. The only editing I did was cropping.
